Surrounded by the peaks of the Kitzbϋhel Alps, Saalbach-Hinterglemm is located in the Pinzgau region in the district of Zell am See, in the Saalbach Valley. The journey from CLC Alpine Centre is short, around a 20-minute drive in low traffic, to reach one of Austria’s premier ski resorts.

The ‘ski circus’ rings the villages of Saalbach and Hinterglemm, united under one authority in 1987, and the former mining town of Leogang in a neighbouring valley. Together they create some 270km of ski runs of striking variety to appeal to all levels of skier, served by a large, modern fleet of 70 lifts and 15 cable cars.

With the addition of the much smaller Fieberbrunn, connected via a lift linking the Tyrol and Salzburg, this ski circus goes from the largest in Austria to one of the biggest ski areas in the world.

As well as plenty of skiing action on both sides of the valley, with the north side favoured by those who like the sun on their faces and the south having more appeal for off-pisters, the 2 main village centres lie immediately at the foot of the slopes allowing for some immediate après ski fun for fans and families. December always promises to be lively with the Bergfestival of rock music, Formula Snow skidoo races and traditional DJ event: Rave on Snow.

Saalbach and Hinterglemm are spectacularly surrounded by 2000m peaks, and the natural environment has been developed to cater for a wide mix of snow activities as well as the usual skiing on/off piste and cross country, with parks, snowboarding, snow trails, Nightpark, a ski movie course, toboggan runs, speed course, snowtubing, sleigh rides etc.

Walkers have 22 winter walk paths to choose from, and 400km of summer hiking paths through flower strewn meadows and woodland, boosted also by tennis courts, coaster riding, and the highest in Europe’s highest tree top path and Golden Gate bridge attraction, with a 1km long round path and a 200m rope bridge. Fieberbrunn has a series of downhill hikes while you travel upwards by mountain railway to savour the wild charm of the area.

With floodlit tobogganing and skiing adding to the romance of Saalbach-Hinterglemm, this popular ski area will sweep you away with its opportunities for exciting alpine memories to treasure – which can include your very own movie as you break your own ski record on the slopes.
