Top world competitors; live music from famous name artists; international DJs; dancing; making new friends and plenty of ice, ice baby… roll them into one giant snowball and you have the pulsing party that is the WOWGlacierLove Festival at Zell-am-See/Kaprun.

Happening at the Kitzsteinhorn perpetual ice glacier and the wonderful Kaprun medieval castle, by day and by night, imagine the scene as light refracting ice and blinding white fresh powder welcome festival goers to this winter wonderland and the launch of the ski season.

The schedule for the Kitzsteinhorn sees top international freestyle athletes from snowboarding and free ski do battle on the slopes for €10,000 prize money, competing over a multi-obstacle course. Other events include Free Ski Test, DJs and live acts on the glacier, and action sport games.

In the evening the programme switches to the dominating landmark of the castle at Kaprun, which dates back to the 12th century, with its WOW Product Expo and Winter Market, free product testing, main festival area and stage performances, as well as after parties. All in all, the festival offers a seductive fusion of sights, sounds and an opportunity for some memorably great experiences.

At Kitzsteinhorn glacier, winter sports take place almost all year round with high altitude skiing at 2,900m and a stylish ice camp at 2,600m where you can enjoy a drink at the Ice Bar. Kitzsteinhorn also has one of the biggest, and multi award winning, snow parks in the Alps. It contains Austria’s biggest super pipe, measuring 125m in length and standing 6.39m tall, to the delight of freestyle skiers and snowboarders. It’s one of the country’s most popular free-ride destinations, with beginner ski slopes also available but only during winter.
